Research & Development

The Company’s first contract, launching Providence Technologies in 1994, was an applied R&D contract with Gas Research Institute to conduct, evaluate and assist in beta testing of new upstream oil & gas industry technologies emerging with GRI funding. Providence worked with GRI clients including Deloitte & Touche, Input/Output, MIT, Schlumberger/GeoQuest, Stanford University, Texas A&M and other leading industry research institutes in commercializing state-of-the-art upstream applications.

Today, the Company owns US Patent 8,077,547 related to Directed Beam Seismic© and has ongoing R&D projects in Direct Porosity Detection, GeoCellular Modeling and Mapping Methods with New Mexico’s national laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory. We focus upon difficult imaging problems and techniques to overcome present-day limits on seismic resolution through innovative geostatistical and robust, predictive computational modeling approaches.
