Seismic Data Licenses For Sale

Carpathian Thrustbelt 2D Swath Seismic Imaging Test Project, Amoco, Anadarko, Chevron, Conoco, Exxon, Fairfield Industries, Hunt Oil, Marathon, Occidental Petroleum and Talisman Energy: This 1997 - 1998 project was formulated as a commercial partnership venture to spread the costs and risks of difficult, challenging and risky technology tests and applications. The project explored for and documented solution and non-solution pathways for seismic data processing techniques in the complex overthrust imaging environments, exemplified by this dataset from Poland, typical in many otherwise promising petroleum environments with high economic potential worldwide. As an entrepreneurial business model, this project is a prototype for profitable applied R&D ventures in industry, posting a 2.5:1 rate of return upfront on the project.

Northern Val Verde 2D Swath Reconnaissance Project, Crockett County, TX, IP Petroleum, Providence Technologies, and Sonat Exploration: Providence conducted this speculative 2D swath recon program as 2 separate joint ventures, extending prolific Canyon Sands production to the south of the major producing trend in the mesa country of the eastern Permian Basin. Sonat's drilling results in this field development project have been 18 for 20 successful wells, with calculated EUR's between 0.5 - 5.0 BCF per well. This project becomes significant documentation of advancement in use of the seismic tool in this play.

Northern Val Verde 3D Pilot Project, Crockett County, TX, Primal Energy, Providence Technologies: This pilot 3D project was designed to demonstrate improvements to seismic imaging and data quality in the Strawn/Canyons Sands plays of this challenging basin. Outstanding data results have led to the identification of drillable natural gas prospects, perhaps stratigraphic as well as structural targets, scheduled for drilling in 1999. This speculative venture is intended to also demonstrate improved play economics through judicious design and 3D data prospecting in a traditionally non-seismic play.

Pakenham 3D Project, Terrell County, TX: This 1994 - 1995 35 square mile group 3D shoot was a groundbreaking venture in the difficult Val Verde Basin, wherein 5 competing client companies joined Providence's proposal to conduct non-exclusive programs. Results led to substantial natural gas discovery, development and production. Providence is the designated broker for this and adjacent datasets, and also owns portions of the data volumes.

Taylor Delta 3D Program, Oldham County, TX, GEDD Inc., Primal Energy, Providence Technologies, Rio Petroleum and Stevens Oil: Providence identified this prospect area, identified, solicited and contracted with partners an Area Of Mutual Interest for exploration. 2D seismic and subsurface interpretation and mapping by Providence and partners led to leasing and options of some 57 square miles, based upon the identification of some 15 prospects, 8 additional lead areas, and 18 MMBO prospect potential. Providence successfully packaged, presented, negotiated a substantial carry, contracted and sold this venture to additional partners, during the steepest price decline on record in this industry. A 17 square mile pilot 3D shoot has confirmed the 2D interpretation and will result in several promising drilling tests in 1999.

Val Verde 3D Project, Terrell County, TX: This 1996 - 1997 3D seismic venture was the continuation of the Pakenham 3D Project, designed and acquired to provide a seamless stitch to the original, adjacent data volume. The merged 125 square miles were improved in processing by additional fold, and has led to the drilling and development of substantial new natural gas reserves, some 300 BCF discovered since 1994. Providence is the designated broker for these volumes and retains additional ownership in the data. The lease cycle is beginning to turn in the project area; Providence has brokered one aftermarket sale of the volume for 7 figures, with considerable upside potential.
